UFO Jeans 3000 is an award-winning case study I developed for Fashion Scholarship Fund in 2023. UFO Jeans is an iconic American ravewear brand that had largely faded from cultural relevance after the early 2000s. This project aimed to help the brand reclaim its identity while redirecting value from wholesale and secondhand markets back into direct-to-consumer sales.
The collection centers on modular and hyper-functional design, encouraging consumers to wear garments in multiple ways rather than purchasing more.
After the project was selected by the Fashion Scholarship Fund, I was inspired to bring the collection to life through patternmaking and construction. I created The Stash Wind Pants and The Windbreaker Shorts using reclaimed tent fabrics, resulting in lightweight garments that highlight versatility and sustainability. Continuing this creative momentum, I produced two additional pieces from tent materials—a dress and a vest—further expanding the collection.
Select garments were featured in Colorado State University’s Spring 2023 fashion show, City Strut. Additional pieces from the collection were exhibited in Bug Energy, a collaborative art show with artist and friend Jean Basiletti, at The Cultural Arts Coalition in Brewster, NY, in Fall 2023.
