The Amy Parsons Project
The Amy Parsons Project was a mini collection created in collaboration with my friend and peer, Spencer Gordon, for Colorado State University President Amy Parsons. This cross-functional project was developed as part of our CLO3D course and digital printmaking course.
The objective of the project was to design a professional yet functional ensemble that President Parsons could wear to the Colorado State University Mountain Campus. As a class, we met with President Parsons to gain insight into her personal style, fashion inspirations, and functional needs. Kate Middleton was a key source of inspiration for the President, so we designed a modern outdoor look that balances elegance with practicality.
The technical pant was constructed using a second-hand fleece-backed knit fabric and features a feminine cinching detail behind the knee as well as a saddle seam. Because the blazer utilized newly printed fabric, we intentionally sourced second-hand materials for the pants to incorporate sustainability into the collection.
As shown in the slide deck, patterns for both the blazer and pants were developed using CLO3D. The original prints featured in the collection were designed by me using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The blazer fabric was produced via dye-sublimation printing and quilted using a Juki long-arm machine in the CSU design lab.
The final look was featured in CSU’s Spring 2023 fashion show, Astral Threads, as seen in the first image.
